Paul
Stout is a construction project manager, estimator and
construction seminar instructor, bringing more than twenty three years of
practical, hands-on construction experience into the seminar / workshop and
consulting arena. From Laborer to Project Manager, Paul advanced through
the ranks to learn the industry from the inside out. This progression of
personal and career growth included labor, supervision, and management for
hundreds of projects. He was a crew Foreman or Project Superintendent for five
years, an Estimator for more than five years and a Project Manager for more than
ten years. Paul has managed projects from the position of both Subcontractor and
Prime Contractor (GC).
Noted projects include Sea World of California’s Shamu Backstage, Sea World
East Out-fall Diversion Line, Maintenance Hangars at MCAS Tustin, Tactical
Vehicle Maintenance Facility at Camp Pendelton, The International Border Waste
Water Treatment Plant in San Diego, Expansion of Jack Murphy Stadium (Qualcomm
Stadium), and the Callaway Golf Ball Facility.
Intimate familiarity with major software packages for Project Management has
placed Paul in the unique position to see and hear the challenges of literally
hundreds of construction companies. Through presentations, seminars, and
after-sales training including implementation consulting, he has developed
unique skills for assisting owners, designers, and construction firms with
technology and methodology solutions.
Paul is the Founder and acting Director of Education Development for Power Summit. His
understanding of the construction process, vast experience and dynamic
presentation skills enables him to write and present seminar material with
authority and conviction. He has written, produced and presented many components
for Certificate Series Programs for both Foremen and Project Managers. Since the year 2000, Paul has conducted 14 construction
project management software training sessions and presented more than 100
seminars and workshops in 25 US cities. His experience and personal
qualities make him a popular choice for consulting and in house
training assignments.
Paul was a key instructor in the "Construction Engineering and
Project Management" certificate program at San Diego State University
(2001). His curriculum became the core for the development of this new 216 hour
program. He is also a regular instructor for the Construction Project
Management course at the University of California - San Diego (UCSD Extended
Studies Department)
Paul is active in a number of trade associations including The Associated
General Contractors, American Building Contractors, and American Subcontractors
Association. Paul is also active in his church and community, and actively gives
back to his community through such "Life Skills" efforts as the
"Power of Respect" seminar he developed and presents in the inner

Dan
Fauchier
is manager, college teacher, mediator,
arbitrator, partnering facilitator and construction management expert with
twenty years experience in direct, hands-on management of construction
projects from $250,000 to $18,000,000, and forensics consulting for nearly
a Billion Dollars in projects nationwide.
Experienced in commercial, residential and public
construction, on nearly one hundred projects, he has served as either the
general contractor, a subcontractor, the project manager for the general
or subcontractor, the design team leader or the owner's construction
manager.
Before joining the Board of Advisors of Power Summit, a
nationwide research and training group specializing in construction
management, Mr. Fauchier taught Construction Management and Planning &
Scheduling for the Engineering extension of the University of California,
San Diego (UCSD) and for the Defense Conversion Foundation at San Diego
State University (SDSU). In the past decade he has served a number of
national firms including Saddle Island Institute, ArbitrationWorks®,
SDC & Associates and Pinnacle Automation as an instructor,
construction claims analyst, time extension analyst, graphics mentor, CPM
scheduler, trainer, construction manager and expert witness.
Mr. Fauchier also works closely with the Engineering &
General Contractors Association (EGCA) as their professional liaison and
advocate to local and regional public agencies, striving to enhance the
rapport between the private and public sectors and to make government
projects work more efficiently for the public’s benefit.
A committed advocate of Alternate Dispute Resolution, he
has been certified by the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM) as an
Arbitrator and Mediator, and serves actively as a panelist for ArbitrationWorks®
tribunal in cases for the California Contractor's State License Board, as
well as private dispute cases. Additionally, Dan is on the ADRWorks®
teaching team offering training to public agencies and contractors
in A-Z Dispute Resolution programs including Dispute Review Boards,
Partnering, Mediation and Arbitration, and serves as a process analyst to
firms and agencies wishing to implement or expand effective dispute
resolution processes.
Mr. Fauchier is active in "giving back" to the
construction community through service in numerous trade associations
including Associated General Contractors (where he served three terms as
Education Committee Chair); American Subcontractors Association (local
training and the National Owner Liaison Committee); Latino Builders, Black
Contractors Association and Women Construction Owners & Executives
(industry coalition partners); Engineering General Contractors of America
(Education Committee) and the Dispute Review Board Foundation; conducting
scores of public seminars and private workshops each year. Mr. Fauchier is
a member of the Forensics Consultants Association of San Diego and the
American Bar Association (ABA) Construction Industry Forum.
