Paul 10.jpg (211826 bytes)  Paul Stout is a construction project manager, estimator and construction seminar instructor, bringing more than twenty three years of practical, hands-on construction experience into the seminar / workshop and consulting arena. From Laborer to Project Manager, Paul advanced through the ranks to learn the industry from the inside out. This progression of personal and career growth included labor, supervision, and management for hundreds of projects. He was a crew Foreman or Project Superintendent for five years, an Estimator for more than five years and a Project Manager for more than ten years. Paul has managed projects from the position of both Subcontractor and Prime Contractor (GC).

Noted projects include Sea World of California’s Shamu Backstage, Sea World East Out-fall Diversion Line, Maintenance Hangars at MCAS Tustin, Tactical Vehicle Maintenance Facility at Camp Pendelton, The International Border Waste Water Treatment Plant in San Diego, Expansion of Jack Murphy Stadium (Qualcomm Stadium), and the Callaway Golf Ball Facility.

Intimate familiarity with major software packages for Project Management has placed Paul in the unique position to see and hear the challenges of literally hundreds of construction companies. Through presentations, seminars, and after-sales training including implementation consulting, he has developed unique skills for assisting owners, designers, and construction firms with technology and methodology solutions.

Paul is the Founder and acting Director of Education Development for Power Summit. His understanding of the construction process, vast experience and dynamic presentation skills enables him to write and present seminar material with authority and conviction. He has written, produced and presented many components for Certificate Series Programs for both Foremen and Project Managers. Since the year 2000, Paul has conducted 14 construction project management software training sessions and presented more than 100 seminars and workshops in 25 US cities.  His experience and personal qualities make him a popular choice for consulting and in house training  assignments.

Paul was a key instructor in the "Construction Engineering and Project Management" certificate program at San Diego State University (2001). His curriculum became the core for the development of this new 216 hour program. He is also a regular instructor for the Construction Project Management course at the University of California - San Diego (UCSD Extended Studies Department)

Paul is active in a number of trade associations including The Associated General Contractors, American Building Contractors, and American Subcontractors Association. Paul is also active in his church and community, and actively gives back to his community through such "Life Skills" efforts as the "Power of Respect" seminar he developed and presents in the inner city.
